UF is a creative campus. There are
performances, exhibitions, and scholarly lectures taking place
every day; many of these activities are free for students. Become

Be a joiner, get involved:
Join student organizations. This can
be a big step toward experiencing the advantages of the Gator
Nation and its powerful network.

Don’t be a stranger to your advisor:
Talk with your instructors
during office hours. Be proactive and timely in your academic
planning to avoid predicaments or avoidable challenges.

Check your UF email accounts regularly:
In this day of
text messaging, students will go weeks without checking
their email accounts; however, advisors send important
information to UF email accounts.
•
Be fearless:
You have come to college for new ideas,
new experiences, and new friends. You will not always be
in your comfort zone, but this is where you start to find
out who you are, what you believe, and why.
