College of Health and Human Performance,
Dr. Steve Dorman
Make regular visits with your academic advisor:
If you have
questions about your degree plan, talk to your advisor as soon
as possible.
Communicate with faculty:
If you don’t understand the
material in your class or if you have a test and get a poor grade,
ask the professor for additional information or assistance. Most
faculty members are more than willing to assist you individually
during their office hours.
Get to know your professors and offer to get involved
in their research:
Most professors at UF are involved with
cutting-edge research in their discipline.
Join a student organization associated with your major:
Health and Human Performance (HHP) has a student
organization associated with each major offered in the College.
The student organizations in HHP include Student College
Council, Eta Sigma Gamma, Gator Sport Management Club,
Health and Education for Research Outreach Empowerment
and Service (HEROS), Hospitality Honor Society, Leisure
Education and Parks Students (LEAPS), Phi Epsilon Kappa,
and Student Athletic Trainers Organization.
Do volunteer or service work or intern in an area related
to your major if possible:
It is always good to get real-world
experience.
