College of Education, Dr. Glenn Good
Find your passion:
College is a time to figure out what you
want to do with your life. Explore different options so that you
can fully embrace your studies and find satisfaction in your
subsequent career.
Get engaged:
Students who engage with their college are more
successful and happier. Participate in class discussions, talk with
your professors, volunteer, and join student organizations.
Experience new cultures:
We live and work in increasingly
multicultural societies and a global economy. Take advantage of
extensive opportunities in our College to increase your cultural
competence via internships, field placements, alternative spring
breaks, volunteer activities, study abroad, and the College’s
Transformational Personal Experiences (TPE).
Find a mentor/Be a mentor:
Tap into the wisdom of those
who have successfully gone before you, requesting their support
and guidance. Similarly, offer your assistance to those who
will benefit from your caring, knowledge and wisdom (such as
serving as a tutor or youth mentor in the community).
Strive for balance:
College is a time of incredible personal
and intellectual challenges and growth. Learn intensely, forge
lifelong relationships, and take regular advantage of the great
UF/Gainesville options for activities that sustain.
