From mentoring and teaching to running and dancing, there are many ways to get involved in service projects in and around
Gainesville. Florida Alternative Breaks and PROJECT MASCOT are two of many volunteering projects organized by the Center
for Leadership and Service. Twice a year students gather to partake in the unique philanthropic event called the Semi-Annual
Undie 500 Run, an opportunity for students to take a victory lap through the heart of campus in their underwear after donating
their clothes to a local charity. Prefer dancing to running? Dance Marathon at UF benefits the Children’s Miracle Network at
Shands Children’s Hospital. Each spring, more than 800 students take to the floor for 26.2 hours — no sitting allowed! Stop by
CLS in Peabody Hall to learn more about the many volunteer opportunities available to UF students.
