Gators Have Spirit
Get ready to be entertained, and busy, during Homecoming Weekend! Homecoming has been a treasured UF
tradition since 1916. It is a time when students and alumni unite to celebrate UF’s sports teams and show off
their Gator pride. Always coinciding with a home football game, classes are cancelled the Friday of Homecoming
week. Today’s traditions include the Homecoming Parade, which draws 60,000 Gator fans to University Avenue.
Soulfest, sponsored by Florida Blue Key, is a free cultural event that includes an outdoor concert, dance and
step shows, musical and vocal performances, and food during the festive weekend.
