The experience you are about to embark on is unlike any other you will
experience in your life. Your peers, classes, instructors, and involvement
will teach you more about yourself and the world around you than ever before.
Take advantage of every opportunity presented to you – you have the power to
become the best you can be. That’s what it means to be a Gator.

is here to help. It chronicles the traditions that make the UF experience
unique and gives you the opportunity to showcase the legacy that you will leave behind.
There are thousands of ways for you to leave a legacy. It could be studying abroad,
serving the community, or getting involved in one of UF’s hundreds of student
organizations. Whatever it is, do not wait. Four years may seem like a lot of time,
but trust me, it isn’t. Find your passion and run with it. The future is yours, and
because you are part of the Gator Nation, it couldn’t be brighter.
Though you cannot be a student forever, the memories you catalogue in this

will last a lifetime. With this book, plus the network of friends you make as an
undergraduate and the opportunities you will enjoy in the UF Alumni Association,
