UF South Florida Leadership Series - Bringing Nature Back
Hosted by: UF South Florida
Event Description
We hope you can join us for an informative session on South Florida's biodiversity, "Bringing Nature Back: The Agroecology of Place, Plants, and People", hosted by Dr. Zachary Brym, Assistant Professor, Agroecology.
Dr. Zachary Brym represents the Department of Agronomy at the University of Florida's Tropical Research and Education Center (TREC) in Homestead. He holds a Ph.D in ecology from Utah State University with specialization in crop physiology and computational biology.
His research and extension program explores how production systems can remain profitable while conserving natural resources and protecting the environment. His projects focus on the role of biodiversity and scale in agroecosystems, the distribution and management of invasive plant and pest species, and the impacts of management practices on crop production and environmental conservation. His work recommends data-supported adaptive management practices across commodities to address local and regional challenges to crop production.
