The last edition of the
F Book
to carry the freshmen rules was
published in 1948, and the rat caps that freshmen were required to
wear disappeared soon after. As the freshmen rules disappeared, so
did the
F Book,
with the publication ceasing in 1961.
In 2006, the Florida Cicerones, UF’s Student Ambassadors
organization, helped bring the tradition back to campus,
creating a modern edition of the long-lost
F Book
.
With the help of the
F Book
, you can become a UF
Tradition Keeper, or “UF TK.” Simply take part in the
traditions detailed in this book. The more traditions you
complete, the higher your UF TK rank. Complete 40 or
more traditions during your time at UF, and you will be
recognized with a special gold medallion to wear
at graduation.
So as you embark on your incredible
journey here at UF, keep this
F Book
close. It is your key to unlocking your UF
Story – the traditions and memories that
will make you part of the Florida Gator
Nation forever.
Past Cicerones President
BIGAD SHABAN helped
bring F Books back in 2006.
