Congratulations and welcome to the University of Florida. You are now officially part of the
Gator Nation! At the University of Florida, learning has no borders. You will be presented
with experiences to learn and grow through classroom lectures, individual research, study-
abroad trips, service learning, leadership, and campus activities. These rich learning
opportunities are part of the fabric and tradition of the University of Florida.
In addition to reaping benefits from being a part of UF, you will contribute in
many positive ways to this community. Some examples of ways you can contribute:

Take on the challenge of U Matter We Care by reaching out to those who are in
distress and getting that person to one of the university’s many helping resources.

Always embody the values of the university including the Honor Code.
•
Stop by the Dean of Students Office in Peabody 202 at 2:55 p.m. Monday
through Friday for Take 5 – a five-minute rest and rejuvenate activity.

Share your knowledge, enthusiasm and experiences by accepting a leadership role
in a student organization or becoming actively engaged in community service.

the University of Florida and throughout the Gator Nation. I encourage you to become
