UF has a hockey team? Yes — and it's going for a championship

Watch the top-seeded Gator ice hockey team take on its SEC rivals Feb. 26 and 27 when the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference hosts its championships in Columbus, Ga.

Surprised to learn UF has a hockey team? The non-varsity, intercollegiate team was founded in 1996 and plays a six-month season. It recently won the SEC East title and is expected to vie with SEC West title-holder Arkansas for the regional championship.
