Tebow embodies The Gator Nation’s ability to rise to the top

Author: Unknown Publication Date: Friday October 28, 2011

When he needed to Sunday, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow (BS ’09) dug deep. With less than six minutes remaining, the Gator’s Heisman winner pulled the Broncos out of a 15-point deficit to force overtime with the Miami Dolphins. The Broncos won the game, 18-15.

And The Gator Nation was there to cheer Tebow on.

“Gator fans are everywhere, and The Gator Nation is everywhere,” Tebow said. “They always come out to support.”

Tebow’s on-field performance — his first start of the 2011 season — was just one highlight of “Gator Day” at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium on Sunday. The Gator Nation, which turned out in all variations of Gator/Dolphin/Bronco orange and blue, enjoyed special activities before, during and after the game.

One highlight included the presentation of a $25,000 donation to support UF student scholarships and the Florida Opportunity Scholars program.

But there’s no doubt that Tebow’s performance made the day complete.

Gators rise to the top — it’s what we do. Congratulations to Tim Tebow not just for winning the game, but for reminding us what The Gator Nation is all about.
