Florida suspends matching grant program

Author: Unknown Publication Date: Tuesday July 12, 2011

The Florida Legislature proposed, and Gov. Rick Scott signed, a provision temporarily suspending the state of Florida’s matching gift programs. The programs (The Major Gifts Trust Fund and Courtelis Facilities Enhancement Challenge Grant program) will be suspended until $200 million of the current backlog is paid. The timing of this is uncertain.

Gifts that were received on or before June 29 will be grandfathered for future match. Gifts received on or after June 30 may never be eligible for state match.
