Donate your unneeded clothes to beat FSU this fall

Author: Unknown Publication Date: Thursday October 27, 2011

Cleaning out your closets? Bring your gently used clothes to Gainesville this fall and help the Student Alumni Association beat Florida State.

Student alumni members of The Gator Nation have challenged their FSU equivalents to a clothing drive. The school that collects the most pounds of donated clothing before the Gators and Seminoles’ football matchup Nov. 22 will not only win bragging rights, but also help the needy in their respective communities. Clothing (and cash donations) collected in Gainesville as part of “Operation Cover-Up” will be donated to United Way, the Salvation Army, St. Francis House and area elementary schools.

The challenge is yet another opportunity for Gators to show how they rise to the top, whether it’s winning a competition or giving back to their communities. Let your unneeded clothes be counted! Donations will be accepted through Nov. 22 at Emerson Alumni Hall, the UF Housing Office or any Gainesville Domino’s Pizza location.
