The UF Alumni Association's Young Alumni E-Newsletter was established to connect with alumni who are 35 years and younger. Our mission is to strengthen the Young Alumni connection to The Gator Nation®! Please feel free to contact us or submit story ideas to YoungAlumni@ufalumni.ufl.edu.

GCL - Gym. Career. Laundry...

Also known as, Gator CareerLink. GCL is an online job search database that allows UF students and alumni to research potential employers, search job postings, network with professionals and learn about on-campus recruiting events. All University of Florida graduates have full access to search for career opportunities within the Gator CareerLink system.

If you are interested in recruiting at UF as an alumnus, GCL will assist you in connecting candidates to your internship, co-op or full-time job opportunities. It can also help ease the process of posting and scheduling on-campus interviews for your opportunities.

It is simple to both search for career opportunities and recruit candidates using the Gator CareerLink system. To learn more about the GCL system, visit www.crc.ufl.edu.

Young Alumnus Spotlight

Kearey Wan

Kearey Wan graduated from the University of Florida in 2003 with a degree in Political Science. After graduating from UF, he attended law school and is now an attorney. He currently lives in Miami and is a member of the local Gator Club®. His greatest UF memory is singing "We Are the Boys" in The Swamp as an undergraduate. He enjoys coming back to campus every year with friends.

Wan is a life member of the UF Alumni Association and an active donor to UF. Understanding how UF shaped his ability to succeed, he views giving back to the university as one of the most meaningful ways to maintain ties to a place that he loves. As a supporter of the Florida Opportunity Scholars Program, he hopes his contributions help students who might not otherwise have been able to go to UF have the chance to attend, thereby making the university and the alumni network richer and more diverse.

Travel with a Gator Club®

Gator Clubs offer a variety of activities. Some of them even offer travel opportunities. Read on to learn more about some recent trips.

Windy City Gator Club

Chicago natives and newbies attended this year's Windy City Gator Club Ski Trip at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Ill. Held every year during the weekend before the Super Bowl, the Ski Trip featured two days of skiing and snowboarding, as well as a Friday night kickoff celebration and Saturday lunch. The Gators networked and socialized during a night on the town Saturday and finished the weekend with the trip's traditional group photo. Keep your calendars clear for the 2012 trip being planned for late January. For more information, please visit the Windy City Gator Club website at www.windycitygators.com.

Warmer temperatures did not stop the San Diego Gator Club from traveling north to Big Bear Lake, Calif. for the Club's annual ski trip. The 3-day trip brought together Gators of all skiing experience levels to share the slopes and their UF stories. Remember this Club's ski trip the next year when you're planning your winter vacations. For more information on the success of this Club's recent trip, check out the Florida magazine article at magazine.ufl.edu/2011/02/san-diego-gators-hit-the-slopes/.

The Gotham, Philly and New England Gator Clubs travelled to Stowe, Vt., for the sold-out annual Ski Trip on March 3-6. With the mountain to themselves, this group of Gators began the weekend with its legendary Friday night welcome party, followed by two full days of skiing. The Club's package included round trip transportation and a 3-night stay at the Gator-friendly Northern Lights Lodge. Be sure to mark your calendar for next year.

Rocky Mountain Gator Club

On Saturday April 9, join the Rocky Mountain Gator Club at A-Basin for its annual Ski Day. Anticipating a crowd of nearly one hundred, the local Club will provide lunch free of charge, as well as host a DJ on the beach. Donations are welcome. Lift tickets are available for purchase that day at the ticket office, but the Club does have a few discount coupons on a first come, first serve basis. To RSVP or for more information, please contact the Rocky Mountain Gator Club at rockymountaingatorclub@gmail.com.
