The 14-member class of 1906 founded the alumni association.

The alumni association hosted its first alumni banquet.

Graduates of the schools that preceded the University of Florida were recognized and invited to join the alumni association.

Life memberships to what was then called the "General Alumni Association" were introduced. Early life memberships cost $25.

The first copy of Florida Alumnus, the alumni association's magazine, was printed.

The alumni association took on its first capital campaign to raise $150,000.

The first "county clubs" were organized in Jacksonville, Ocala, Sanford, Orlando, Miami and Tampa. The clubs were the precursor to today's Gator Clubs®.

The alumni association was incorporated under Florida state law.
1928
The alumni association began its fundraising effort to place a statue of President Albert Murphree on campus. The statue, by sculptor Gutzon Borglum, was erected after World War II.
1931
The UF Alumni Club of California organized and became the first UF alumni club outside Florida.
1932
The alumni association launched its first intense membership drive.
1934
Members of the alumni association founded the UF Endowment Corp. It was the precursor to today's University of Florida Foundation Inc., which was founded in 1964.
1937
An alumni homecoming barbecue replaced the traditional, formal luncheon. Attendance to the luncheons had grown so much that there was no longer an indoor space on campus capable of hosting them. Although they have taken various incarnations over the years, today's homecoming barbecues, which are still sponsored in part by the UF Alumni Association, take place at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
1937
The alumni association reorganized and new by-laws were introduced. The Florida Alumnus ceased publication.
1947
The Florida Alumnus magazine began publication again after a 10-year absence.
1949
Spring reunions were introduced to bring alumni back to campus. The events were a precursor to today's annual Spring Weekend event.
1950
The alumni association offices opened in University Auditorium. The offices had previously been housed in the Florida Union building.
1953
The alumni association introduced "University Days," which took UF administrators and faculty to speak in local communities about how the university affected Florida and its residents.
1955
The Alumni Loyalty Fund was introduced to help raise funds for the university.
1955
The Grand Old Guard, which had been founded several years earlier to honor alumni of UF's predecessor institutions, welcomed the modern University of Florida's first graduates to its ranks.
1958
The alumni association hosted its first Alumni Club Presidents Day, which included an executive council meeting and a lunch. The event was an early precursor to today's Gator Club® Leaders Weekends.
1966
The UF Alumni Association was awarded the National Alumni Service Award by the American Alumni Council. The award recognized the association's work with Florida State University's alumni association to convince the Legislature to increase university funding.
1970
The Florida Cicerones/Student Alumni Association was founded.
1972
The alumni association introduced its Young Alumni program, today known as "Florida's Young and Involved."
1975
The Florida Alumnus became University of Florida Today magazine, which it remains to this day. The magazine was originally sent to all alumni each quarter but is now sent only to dues-paying members of the UF Alumni Association.
1978
The alumni association introduced a fundraising program in which students called alumni to ask for donations. Today the program is known as the Florida RepDIALS.
1979
The alumni association was renamed the UF National Alumni Association to help reflect its reach outside Florida.
1979
The first Distinguished Alumni Professor award was given to history professor Michael Gannon.
1980
UF alumni clubs merged with local chapters of the Gator Boosters to form today's Gator Clubs®.
1987
The first UF vanity license plates were made available. More than 10,000 plates were sold within the first three months, benefiting scholarships and academic advancement at UF.
1992
The alumni association was restructured with membership opening up to friends of the universityas well as alumni.
1992
Alumni seminars were introduced by the alumni association and the Division of Continuing Education. The seminars were a precursor to today's "Back to College" program, which started in 1994.
1996
The alumni association's Web site was launched.
1997
The UF Alumni Association dropped "National" from its name to better reflect the association's global ties.
1999
The National Day of the Gator, now known as International Gator Day, was introduced. The annual event calls upon Gators to give back to their communities through special service projects.
2002
The "Dinner with 12 Strangers" program, which unites students with an alumni dinner host to meet, eat and exchange experiences, was introduced.

Emerson Alumni Hall opened on University Avenue thanks to a gift from Bill and Jane Emerson.
2003
Albert and Alberta statues were placed in the Emerson Alumni Hall courtyard.

Black Alumni Weekend was introduced by the Association of Black Alumni.
2004
Gator Guayabera Guateque was introduced by the Association of Hispanic Alumni.

The new Spring Weekend, which brings alumni back to campus to reunite and take part in various events, was introduced.

The Gator Nation Network, a new online marketing tool for alumni and friends, was launched.

The UF Alumni Association celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The F-Book was reintroduced to incoming freshman, reviving a tradition that ended in the 1960's.

The UFAA created a new program called Silver Society, which honors 25 year graduates of UF.

The UFAA offered a centennial life membership.

The UFAA launched a new website.
