The selection committee includes current faculty, alumni and community representatives who have some connection to the University of Florida. Nominations are solicited from alumni through the TODAY magazine, GatorNews electronic newsletter and College Deans.

	Selection Criteria the individual has gained a reputation among students and alumni for being a superior and highly influential teacher the individual has gained a reputation for having immeasurable positive impact on students the individual's service to the University, state and nation has resulted in truly beneficial contributions and has brought significant distinction to the University the individual should be a member of the current teaching faculty and have been on faculty for at least 10 years

View Selection Criteria

Once selected the recipient will be asked to work with the Alumni Association in various programs to the degree that time permits including recruitment of National Merit Scholars, the Outreach Program, Back to College and Distinguished Lecture Series. In return, the Alumni Association awards the recipient a $20,000 stipend, to be paid in four installments over the two-year term, as well as support provided by the office of Academic Affairs.
